Solo/Duo FAQ's
1. Why was my child selected?
Our teachers select dancers who have demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment, growth, and readiness for an individual/duet performance. A solo/duo is an opportunity to continue developing confidence, artistry, and performance skills.
2. Does my child have to accept?
No. Accepting is completely optional. We understand every family has different schedules and commitments.

4. How much does it cost?
Solo Fee: $100 or Duo Fee: $75/dancer
Private Lessons: $64/hour (split by duet families)
Costume Deposit: $85 for recreational and $95 for competitive
5. When will my dancer perform?
Dancers can select our Winter and/or Spring Recital.
Dancers in our performance program can also perform at our regular competition events that their team attends, and additional competition options if preferred.
6. Can my child do more than one solo?
Yes! Eligible dancers may perform multiple solos depending on teacher recommendation, scheduling, and family commitment.
7. What styles are available?
Teachers will recommend styles that best showcase each dancer's strengths and goals.
8. Who choreographs the solo?
Your child's teacher will create and teach the choreography and continue working with them throughout the season.
10. What if my child gets nervous?
That's completely normal! Our teachers work closely with dancers to build confidence and prepare them to perform successfully.
11. What are the benefits of doing a solo/duo?

Please let us know about planned absences as early as possible. We'll work together to create a rehearsal plan whenever possible.
13. "Is my child ready for a solo/duo?"
If you've received this invitation, the teaching staff believes your dancer is ready. Every soloist develops at their own pace, and we'll support them throughout the entire process. We focus on growth, confidence, and enjoying the journey—not perfection.

- Schedule choreography sessions with their teacher (30 minute sessions until their dance is complete)
- Attend a minimum 30-minute private lesson every two weeks (or 15 minutes weekly)
- Practice regularly at home
- Perform at recital (and if in our performance program they have the opportunity to select competitions)
